PTA

All parents, guardians and teachers are automatically members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and are encouraged to support it.

The PTA’s main objectives are to foster direct contact and cooperation between parents and staff, and to assist in fundraising and Co-Curricular Activities in conjunction with the staff.

Fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, staff and students to get together. Fundraising opportunities include: providing refreshments and popcorn at school events, selling gifts for Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day, Family Picnic, Car Boot Sale, Pink Day Ribbons etc. Sometimes the money raised goes to charity, but our funds are also used to provide ‘extras’ for the benefit of our students. Examples range from, a new adventure playground (designed by the Student Council), sweet treats for Deepavali, or a TV display screen for our PE & Sports department to celebrate their achievements.

Social functions provide opportunities for families to get together and have fun. Every July the PTA organise a big celebration of the school year, at the Desa ParkCity Club. This ‘adults only’ event includes entertainment, dancing, great raffle prizes and a chance to say thank you to all those who have contributed to another successful year at ISP.

If you are interested in joining the PTA, please let us know. You may have particular skills that you can share, or you might just be willing to help out for an hour or two at one of our events. You don’t have to commit to lots of time – just let us know when and how you are able to help.
