Dear ISP families,
It seems incredible that this is the sixth year that I am writing an end of Year message at ISP, and once again I find myself writing that this has been the best year yet. Perhaps I am getting sentimental, but I really mean it; I believe that we really are getting better each year, always looking to improve and always moving forwards.
As we saw in today’s final assembly, so much has happened this year and the end of year slide show gives a brief glimpse as to the many events that have taken place. Without the dedication of our wonderful staff, none of this would have been possible. Barely a week has gone by this academic year when there have not been additional activities, fixtures and events taking place on weekends and after school and this is all above and beyond the day-to-day lessons that our staff deliver. I hope you agree that ISP is fortunate to have such a strong team of teachers and classroom assistants.
This week we have held a number of awards ceremonies for the different ages of students in the school and I enjoyed them all. Seeing our first ever batch of graduating Year 13 students in their graduation gowns yesterday, brought a nice symmetry to the end of the year; we started the year with a first whereby our very youngest students took their first steps into their brand new Early Years Centre, and we ended the year with a first whereby our very eldest students took their first steps towards university and life beyond ISP.
Looking ahead to next year, I am sure it too will be filled with many firsts and new developments. The opening of the new core academic block will be one such development to look forward to. Its science labs, new classrooms, the sports hall and the fantastic swimming pool will complement our current facilities and we also look forward to upgrading the current MPH and sixth form block during the holiday.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all ISP parents for your ongoing support throughout this year and to all our talented ISP students for continuing to make it a pleasure to come to work every day. I feel very privileged to be a part of this amazing school community, and I hope you all do too.
Have a restful and enjoyable holiday; I look forward to seeing you back in school on 4th September.
