The ISP Charity Committee would like to give you an update on the fantastic work which has been happening around school:
In the previous academic year the two chosen school charities were Malaysian Nature Society and Lotus Charity Care Centre. We were able to support them in many ways including fundraising, a clothing amnesty, inclusion in the gift appeal and we are currently working with MNS on a possible volunteering project.
This year our two chosen charities are PAWS (Malaysian Animal Shelter) and World Vision (Sponsor a Child Initiative). We will be running several events to support these two fantastic charities, one of which will be a House coin competition. Four containers in each of the four House colours are placed at the end of the cafe near the charity noticeboard. Each term, the House which fills theirs the highest will win House Points, and all money raised will go towards our chosen charities. We request that only Malaysian coins are dropped into the containers (no foreign coins or paper money).
We are also running a Spectacle Recycling initiative with glasses being donated to Myanmar. The container is placed outside of the Staffroom. Please see this short video clip for information.
We will be supporting The Lost Food Project – 12 Days of Christmas project this December. Each class will have a box to fill with desired goods; you will receive a list from either your child’s class/form tutor or your parent representative. Please send in items between the 4th and 14th of December only and they must be in-date until at least January 2018.
In addition to this, we will be running the Gift Appeal again and information will be coming out from Miss Rachael.
Huge thanks to everyone who supported the fundraising last academic year for Royal Belum, we were able to donate a cheque today for a fantastic RM3,300.
Also a big thank you to everyone who donated during Pink Day 2017, today we presented Cancer Research Malaysia with a cheque for a whopping RM 6,000.
Many thanks to everyone who supported any of our charity events in any way, we are always amazed by people’s generosity. We look forward to organising and enjoying more successful events for our charities this academic year.
